Chat Models

Permission: models admin (dashboard operators)

Define the named models shown in Lab and Studio composers (Mini, Pro, Max, or custom tiers). Each row maps a friendly label to a real provider model id.

Create / edit

Chat models → Create (or open an existing row)
Set name, provider model id, optional SVG icon, and sort order
Save

Icons are sanitized before storage. Unmapped or keyless targets stay visible but muted/disabled in the picker so end users are not sent into a hard failure.

Defaults

Seeded tiers typically include Mini / Pro / Max. The composer defaults to Mini when that row exists. Change the underlying provider model anytime without renaming the product-facing label.

Provider keys

Named models do not store API keys. Configure keys under API Integration. Catalog entries for Claude, GPT, Gemini, Grok, and others live in config/ai.php and the integration screens.
